Chromebooks at WISH

A chromebook
In our commitment to fostering a modern, technology-driven learning environment, WISH provides one-to-one Chromebooks to ensure that every student has access to the tools needed for digital learning. Chromebooks offer numerous benefits for educational settings, including seamless integration with Google Workspace for Education. Because Chromebooks are cloud-based devices, students can log in on any device to access their work, even if their assigned Chromebook is unavailable.

Please review our Technology Handbook for more details.

Elementary school — Classroom sets

At WISH Elementary, we provide classroom sets of touchscreen Chromebooks for use throughout the day, allowing students to engage with technology and enriching their classroom learning experience.

WISH Middle and WISH Academy — Take-Home program

At both WISH Middle and WISH Academy, all students are assigned a Chromebook through our Take-Home Program. Each student receives a Chromebook at the beginning of the school year to use both at school and home. This program enables students to complete schoolwork outside of school hours, promoting continuous learning and access to digital resources. Each student in this program also receives a charging cord, allowing them to charge their Chromebook overnight to be prepared for the school day. Depending on the device model, some Chromebooks also come with a protective case to mitigate damages.

Students are expected to care for and safely use their Chromebooks. They are responsible for keeping the device in good condition throughout the year, and all materials, including the device and charging cord, must be returned at the end of the school year.

A note regarding lost, stolen, and damaged materials: Lost materials, and materials damaged through willful misconduct, may be the financial responsibility of the family of the student. Repairs and replacements range in cost from $25 to $350. The most common repair cost is $25 for a damaged display. In the event of theft or vandalism, a police report from the jurisdictional law enforcement agency is required. Please see CA Ed Code 48904 and LAUSD Bulletin BUL-5509.3 for further information.

IT Support and Maintenance

To ensure students receive prompt assistance with any technical issues, our IT Manager is available to support Chromebook troubleshooting. Students can easily submit a support ticket to our help center to report any issues. To submit a ticket, students can use this link. Additionally, students can log in to Clever from any school Chromebook and click the "HELP" icon.
