WAHS NHS Eligibility Requirements
1) GPA - Cumulative 3.25 GPA
-NOT INCLUDING TA, PE, NON-AG CLASSES.
2) Service Projects
-1 schoolwide NHS project.
-1 individual service project that must be approved by NHS Faculty Council.
3) Character
-Generally a positive behavior record.
-Highly recommended by 3 out of 4 teachers (excluding PE, advisory, or TA classes).
-Ineligible if more than 1 C4/C5 per semester.
-Students demonstrate good character by being cooperative, coachable, teachable, and responding positively to
redirection.
4) Leadership
-Demonstrated in various ways, including being a support to leadership.
-Good problem solver and a positive role model.
5) Attendance
-Plan to make all WAHS NHS meetings
-A maximum of two missed meetings per school year will be permitted
-If you know you have to miss a meeting, you must meet with a Faculty Council member prior to the whole group meeting.
-If a student misses a meeting due to a school-related field trip or activity, they have 2 business days to meet with a Faculty Council member or advisor to learn what they missed and complete any applicable activities if they are time-sensitive.

6) Dismissal
Members of NHS will be dismissed in the following situations:
-At the end of each semester, students with less than a cumulative 3.25 GPA will have their membership rescinded.
-Does not participate in the service project sponsored by NHS during the school year.
-Does not participate in individual service projects.
-Does not participate in the induction ceremony.
-If you violate any school disciplinary policies (C4/C5 level).
-Participates in academic dishonesty.
