The purpose of Toxic Crusaders is to gear students towards careers in STEM fields other than medicine and engineering - more towards research scientists. Over the last few weeks, students have received training from research scientists who are collecting data on Toxic fumes from the recent fires. Their experience will culminate with a real hands-on lab research at the California Environmental Protection Agency in Pasadena, CA.

Toxic Crusaders places students inside a working lab alongside scientists and other public servants.

An initiative of the Department of Toxic Substances Control’s Environmental Chemistry Lab, this hands-on event teaches students how as a state agency we build strong partnerships to carry out our mission of protecting the public and environment.

The field trip is providing Panera Bread continental breakfast and lunch
