Ms. Draxton was a founding teacher of the award-winning CHIME
Charter School. Her work at CHIME and throughout LAUSD has made her
well versed in planning programs and coordinating curricular
resources. Shawna is a gifted leader who is dedicated to
creating and maintaining a collaborative learning environment which
facilitates maximum learning for all students. She also has a
strong background teaching preservice and inservice teachers best
practices in the field of education, including co-teaching,
differentiated instruction, using technology in the classroom, and
school-wide positive behavior supports. She is a
multi-credentialed National Board Certified Teacher. Ms.
Draxton has previously taught credential candidates at California
State University, Northridge and at Occidental University.
Currently, she is pursuing her PhD at Chapman University.
