Dr. Draxton was a founding teacher of the award-winning CHIME
Charter School. Her work at CHIME and throughout LAUSD has made her
well versed in planning programs and coordinating curricular
resources. Shawna is dedicated to creating and maintaining
innovative, constructivist, data-driven learning experiences.
She regularly leads professional development sessions on best
practices in the field of education that include collaboration,
co-teaching, differentiated instruction, using technology in the
classroom, and school-wide positive behavior supports. She is a
multi-credentialed National Board Certified Teacher. Dr. Draxton
has previously taught credential candidates at California State
University, Northridge and at Occidental University. In 2012, she
received her PhD from Chapman University
