WISH Kindergarteners Enjoy a Trip to the Farm

On Monday May 9th, the WISH Kindergarten classes made a visit to a real working farm, the Underwood Family Farm in Moorpark. This hands-on educational experience involved a presentation from the farmer about different kinds of vegetables and fruit (with seeds on the inside versus the outside), and stages of plants. After a vintage tractor drawn wagon ride, each student got to pick their own one-pound carton of fresh strawberries to take home and share with their families. That is, except for the ones that were eaten immediately off the plants, of course! The day went by quickly, but there was even a little time to visit the Farm Animal Center to get up close and feed goats, pigs, ducks and horses. The best part? Climbing to the top of the haystacks, of course!
